The border is both a place of community and a place of transit. Many families have resided in Ambos Nogales for generations— some long before the land became U.S. soil.

At the same time, people seeking asylum in the U.S. arrive to remote stretches of the border or to the urban city of Nogales, Sonora. Migration patterns are ever-shifting and susceptible to the political whims of any one administration.
